French Infantry Officer’s Sword, M1882 Sabre d’Officier d’Infanterie, Modèle 1882, Troisième République. ‘White’ metal knucklebow-hilt with three-pronged guards, guard plate and grip cap. Wooden grip with twisted copper wire. Straight single edged blade with wide fuller and flat back. Stamped on the ricasso: PBD with sword and helm. This sword comes with a ‘white’ metal sheath with one suspension ring.
