19th Century Imperial French Sword for Light Cavalry Officers M1822 -Marked.
Very large and well balanced cavalry sabre, nice heavy and long blade. Absolutely gorgeous condition, some minor wear expected with age throughout, very minor wear to blade – please see photos.
Acceptance and foundry marks at base of blade. Buffer pad present.

Bronze knucklebow-hilt with two-pronged guards, guard plate and grip cap. All over decorated with leaves and flowers. The horn grip with twisted copper wire. Curved and single edged blade with wide fuller and a flat back. This sword comes with a ‘white’ metal sheath with one suspension ring.
