WW2 Model 1943 Swiss Officers Dagger with Knot by Victorinox
$600.00 CAD
The ELSENER SCHWYZ TM dagger is illustrated in Kurt Glemser’s A Guide to Military Dress Daggers, Volume III, specifically on pages 201-213. The nickel pommel, featuring a countersunk pommel nut, and the Holbein style crossguard exhibit minimal aging with no apparent damage. Its medium brown fruit-wood grip plates remain flawless, free from cracks or chips, secured by three impeccably preserved nickel screws with countersunk taps.
The polished center-ridge, double-edged, stiletto-style blade is in Near MINT condition, displaying only faint runner marks and no signs of graying, speckling, or nicks on the cutting edges. The obverse ricasso bears the serial number “17800.” The dent-free bayonet-style scabbard retains approximately 98% of its original black enamel, showing wear mainly on the edges of the angular scabbard tip. The upper reverse of the scabbard is stamped with an “S,” indicating the location of the scabbard manufacturer, Basler Eisnmobelfabrick A.G., in Sissach.
Accompanying the dagger is a Near MINT, permanently-attached, short black leather hanger featuring a Near MINT nickel clip. The ensemble includes a correctly tied portepee, exhibiting light wear and patination on the silver bullion acorn, crown, and slide.
